Meet Ané

Originally from South Africa, Ané joined the Silk whānau in 2023, bringing with her a vibrant personality, exceptional customer care, and a genuine passion for helping people feel and look their very best.

Making people feel good is at the heart of everything Ané does. She has a natural ability to put clients at ease, listen to what really matters, and create an experience that leaves you feeling relaxed, confident, and genuinely cared for.

Skin is where Ané truly shines. Fascinated by the science behind healthy skin, she's constantly learning, researching, and expanding her knowledge. Graduating as Top Student in Advanced Dermatology & Medical Aesthetics is just one example of her incredible drive, but it's her passion for helping clients achieve real, lasting results that makes her stand out.

As Ané says,

"I absolutely love skincare. It fascinates me how beautifully complex and different our skins can be. I especially love guiding clients through their skin journey and helping restore health, balance, and confidence—not just in their skin, but in themselves too."

When she's not creating personalised skin plans, you'll often find Ané perfecting another set of brows. Her brow work has become something of a signature, with an eye for detail that creates beautifully balanced, natural results. She also has a real love for waxing, helping clients feel smooth, confident, and comfortable from head to toe.

Karyn is our seasoned Spa Manager whose journey into the beauty industry started later in life but has been nothing short of spectacular! Awarded the prestigious title of 'Most Promising Therapist in New Zealand' she truly has been.

With over a decade of dedication to Silk, we would not be the Spa we are today, without her.

Karyn's passion for skincare histology and product knowledge is incredible! Her attention to detail means she makes sure every single one of her clients are happy and getting the individual attention and care they deserve, this really does stand her apart.

With a heart of gold and a great sense of humor, when Karyn is not with clients, she is working hard behind the scenes ensuring Silk is running as smoothly as possible.

Meet Maia

Maia is back! After welcoming her second little one, we're incredibly lucky to have her back at Silk a couple of days each week. You'll find her in the Spa every Wednesday and most Saturdays, bringing her warmth, laughter, and years of experience with her.

If you've met Maia, you'll know exactly what we mean when we say she's sunshine in human form. Her infectious laugh fills the clinic, and if you listen carefully, you might even catch her rolling her r's—a little reminder of her southern roots.

Having been part of the Silk Whanau for almost a decade, Maia has built wonderful relationships with generations of clients who return time and time again. Her experience, skin knowledge, and honest advice make her someone clients trust completely, whether they're starting their skin journey or looking to take it to the next level.

Helping people feel confident in their own skin is what Maia loves most. She's passionate about achieving real skin results while making every treatment feel like a chance to relax, recharge, and enjoy a little time out.

Facials and massage are among Maia's favourites, but if beautiful brows are on your wish list, you're definitely in the right place. Her eye for detail and natural artistry have earned her quite the reputation.

Mel made the move to New Zealand from Australia over ten years ago, bringing with her a varied working history and professional nail technician qualifications. Later in life, she decided to chase her dream and become a qualified Beauty Therapist—and in 2022 was awarded Top Student at WITT, proving it’s never too late to reach your goals.

Since joining Silk, Mel’s enthusiasm for ongoing learning has shone through. She’s completed advanced training with Skin Education International and Dermapen 4 Microneedling, and it’s no secret she loves sharing her knowledge.

If you ever need someone to help uncover what’s going on with your skin, Mel will go above and beyond to get to the bottom of things and offer friendly, expert support.

Mel’s passion is all about making people feel good in every treatment—whether it’s a brow tint or helping you achieve radiant, rejuvenated skin. Her caring nature and curiosity make her an absolutely wonderful addition to the Silk Team

Meet Nikita

Since joining the Silk whānau in 2024, it's been an absolute pleasure watching Nikita grow into an exceptional Beauty Therapist. She brings a quiet confidence, genuine care, and a determination to master every treatment she performs.

Nikita has quickly earned a reputation as our brow queen, creating beautifully shaped brows that keep clients (and the boss) coming back time and time again. Pair that with her lash lifts, and you've got what we confidently think are some of the very best in town. If perfectly groomed brows and lashes are your thing, Nikita is your person.

She is a skilled electrologist with clients have described their treatments as "the best I've ever had" and are often amazed by how comfortable the experience is and how well their skin responds afterwards.

Skin is another area where Nikita loves to learn. She's constantly building her knowledge and refining her skills so she can give every client the very best advice and results.

And then there are her massages... Tiny but mighty really is the perfect description! Don't let her size fool you—her magic hands have a way of finding every tight muscle and sending you home feeling completely relaxed.

Pam is one of our incredible Silk mums back in the Spa two days a week, balancing what she calls the two best jobs in the world.

From the moment you meet Pam, you'll understand why both our clients and team adore her. She has a calm, caring nature, a beautiful way of sharing her knowledge, and a genuine warmth that makes everyone feel comfortable and looked after.

Since joining Silk in 2022, Pam has become an integral part of our team. She has an incredible touch, a meticulous eye for detail, and a passion for delivering treatments that leave clients feeling relaxed, refreshed, and confident in their skin.

Beauty Therapy has always been where Pam wanted to be. As she puts it, "It's all I've ever wanted to do. I love every part of the industry and honestly, I can't pick a favourite! Helping my clients reach their goals—whatever they may be—is the true highlight of my work."

Meet Rachel

Rachel joined the Silk team in early 2025, and it didn't take long for her to become a favourite with both clients and the team. With her calm nature and caring approach, she has a wonderful way of making people feel relaxed, comfortable, and completely at ease from the moment they arrive.

Beauty Therapy was a natural fit for Rachel. She loves helping people feel more confident in their own skin, whether that's through a results-driven facial, a deeply relaxing massage, or simply taking the time to understand exactly what your skin needs.

When she's not with clients, you'll often find Rachel studying long after everyone else has called it a day. She's genuinely passionate about learning and is always building on her knowledge so she can give every client the very best care. Her skin knowledge continues to grow well beyond what you'd expect for someone at this stage of their career, and she's always asking questions, researching, and refining her skills.

Rachel also has a bit of a thing for waxing! She loves the challenge of delivering treatments that are fast, thorough, and as comfortable as possible.

And if electrolysis is what you're after, you're in exceptionally capable hands. Even as one of our newer electrologists, Rachel's precision, confidence, and speed have impressed both our team and our clients.
